God is for you!

God is for you!
Well sisters, here we are – the countdown to the school calendar has begun!  How did time go by so quickly!?  Between your summer life and the oncoming classes I hope you’ve been able to enjoy sleeping in, laying out and staying up!  Summer is about friends, fun and memories – it’s also about transitions.

Some of us are facing new schools, new curriculum, new challenges and the intimidating task of making new friends. We can’t control or stop the changes that will come across in our lives, but we can control how we prepare for the new adventures that lie ahead.

I say “adventures” because in reality isn’t that what life is - one big adventure?  We can’t know what is waiting around the corner, we can’t predict how a situation will work out. But we know that we aren’t alone in this adventure called life.

Remember the scripture “If God is for us who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)  I love that promise, but sometimes it still feels like we are alone and the world is against us.  As you start to think about the changes and challenges that come with the new school year I want to give you some verses to keep you focused on the your God – the One Who is FOR YOU!

Feel free to print these out, write them inside your binder – whatever you need to do so that during your school day you can have quick access to the promises that we know are true. 

Matthew 11:28-30…Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Matthew 32:17…The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.

Psalm 33:20-21…He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.

Psalm 119:114…You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.

2 Corinthians 13:14…May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Ephesians 6:13-15…Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

Philippians 4:6-8…Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

I believe that when our minds meditate on the promises of Christ, our hearts will be full of hope and our spirits will be filled with peace.  Angels walk with you through the halls, they are standing next to your desk, and your Creator is rooting for you!  I hope your first few weeks of studying are smooth and successful!  You are wonderful!

Thank you so much Mrs. Kasey! Your posts are so inspiring and I love the Bible verses you gave us. I'm definitely gonna write some of them down in my binder. Another good one is Jeremiah 29:11 or Mark 10:27 (I think that's the one). Thanks again for your wonderful posts Mrs. Kasey! God bless you!

Thanks so much for the encouragement Ms Kasey! I'm starting Jr. High this year after 2 years of homeschooling, and though I am exciting about this new adventure I've also been pretty nervous. I'm definitely going to write some of these verses on my folders for daily encouragement!

This is awesome!~ I felt spiritually attacked the first weeek of summer. However as the weeks went on, I felt very confident in my faith. I started 8th grade this year, and I'm pretty nervous. I go to a Christian school, but...well if you knew some of the things that have happened to me at my school, you'd know why. I'm the outcast that's pretty numb about being one. All the kids, though they go to a Christian school, are so rude, immature, insecure, and hypocritical abou t their faiths. Over the summer, I prayed nonstop for them to mature and get deeper within their faith. However, the only thing that's matured for them over the summer is that I'm now the shortest girl in 8th grade, and the boys' voices are deeper than last year. I don't doubt God, I just know He has His own timing on things, and His own expectations for me. I believe that He wasnts me to start a change in my school year. This is sooo encouraging, and you have helped me just even more! God bless!
